A complete DMX lighting system normally consists of a controller that creates or recalls lighting commands and one or more compatible drivers or decoders that regulate the connected LEDs. The correct products depend on the LED type, voltage, current, channel count, power, number of zones and required method of control.
- Programmable DMX controllers: create scenes, fades, sequences and scheduled events. Suitable models can operate in stand-alone mode or provide live computer, network, wall-plate or app-based control.
- DMX LED controllers, drivers and decoders: receive DMX data and provide dimming or colour control for single-colour, tunable-white, RGB and RGBW LED lighting.
- DMX distribution and integration: splitters, interfaces, relays and custom control equipment can simplify wiring and connect DMX with wider lighting or building-control requirements.
