DMX Restaurant Lighting Installation London

LIGHTING PROJECT DETAIL

Custom DMX Lighting Installation for Jamie Oliver Restaurant, London

MegaLED was appointed to deliver a bespoke DMX-controlled lighting feature at
Jamie Oliver’s restaurant in Westfield Shopping Centre, London. The concept
required converting over 50 Vespa motorcycle headlamps into a programmable light wall.
Installation was completed in under two weeks, during final interior fit-out.

LED Retrofit of Vespa Headlamps Supplied by Shopfitter

Vespa headlamps were supplied by the main contractor. At our workshop in Enfield, London. Each unit
was disassembled, cleaned, and rebuilt with high-power LED modules fitted behind
the original lens. All visible components remained authentic. LED assemblies
were installed using custom brackets and thermal pads, preserving structural integrity.

Wiring for each headlamp was routed externally to our dedicated DMX-LUX driver decoders
mounted remotely on structured panels. Addressing and cabling were handled off-site
for accuracy and speed of install.

DMX-LUX Drivers and Nicolaudie Programmable Controller

Each lamp was linked to one of our UK-built DMX-LUX power-led driver decoders for
flicker-free power and addressable control. A Nicolaudie DMX programmable controller – SLESA U9
managed scenes and timing. Pre-programmed sequences included soft fades, wave patterns,
and ambient modes to support changing in-venue conditions. Settings were pre-loaded but remain editable on-site.

Fast-Track Retail Lighting Installation with Pre-Mapped Cabling

The system was delivered to site pre-tested and mapped. Headlamps were positioned
to a loosely defined random grid, with power and DMX wiring routed to concealed driver banks.
We worked alongside the shopfitting and electrical teams to integrate the
system into the finished space. On-site installation and commissioning were
completed in two days without delays or rewiring.

DMX Feature Lighting for Hospitality and Retail Projects

The final installation delivers flexible, fully controllable feature lighting
using vintage looking hardware and modern LED/DMX systems. This allowed
visual authenticity with programmable functionality and long-term serviceability.
